NFL Preseason

Last night kicked off the preseason with the Hall of Fame game between the Titans and the Bills. The preseason to me and many other football fans is quite frankly way too long! Ok ok ... it gives the teams some live reps against eachother, but coming from a fans standpoint there should only be about 2 preseason games if that. The fake punt by the Titans was very slick, and gave NFL fans a good taste of whats to come, but after that ... not so much! Thoughts??

  1. I like the length of the current preseaon schedule, the thing I have a problem with is only like 20% of the games are covered. If you are not fortunate enough to have NFL network (screw you Cable One) then it is more like 5%. I for one would like to see all four of the Cowboys preseason games, it would give you time to look at signed free agents, rookies, people playing new positions, etc. I think this would make the week 1 more exciting when the regular season starts out.

  2. I agree that it gives teams time to look at free agents and rookies, but can't you do that in the first 2 preseason games? 4 games is overkill if you ask me! In these preseason games, big name guys only play 2 or so drives and are very careful about not getting injured. When players start thinking about trying not to get injured, that is when most injuries occur. That is my #1 reason for a shortened preseason!
