With the 2010 NFL Draft now over, it gives us as fans a chance to reflect back on the Vikings selections. The Vikings originally had the 30th overall pick and I personally thought that we were going to pick up Jimmy Clausen out of Notre Dame. I thought this would have been a good pick and Clausen could sit behind Favre for a couple years and learn the system. Last second the Vikings traded the 30th overall pick to the Lions for the 34th overall pick and a 7th round selection. With the the pick from the Lions the Vikings selected Chris Cook, CB from Virginia. From what I have heard from other fans this wasn't a very popular pick. Next with the 51st selection the Vikes picked up heisman trophy runner-up running back Toby Gerhart out of Stanford. I was very pleased along with many other fans with this pick. Since we lost Chester to the Bears, this will give us a sold #2 RB behind AP! Gerhart will also be a great short yardage threat. Please let me know what you guys thought about the Vikings draft!
