34 - 20 Vikings

The Vikings win season opener 34 - 20 win over the Browns. They started out a little slow and let the Browns take the lead heading into half time. In the end, the Vikes were too much to handle for the Browns. Coming into the season there were questions about how our special teams would be. The answer is ... about the same as last year. The Vikes gave up a punt return for a touchdown courtesy of Joshua Cribbs. I thought our offense looked sharper in the 2nd half, it seemed like they opened up the playbook more. One other concerns that I had with this game was that our D Line didn't get much pressure. Jared Allen was basically shut down by Joe Thomas. Other than our D Line & Special Teams we looked good. Adrian Peterson was well ... himself, 25 carries for 180 yards and 3 touchdowns. Favre looked decent, 14-21 110 yards and a TD. Let me know what you guys thought about the Vikings season opener! Also check us out on Facebook and Twitter.

  1. I thought it was a heck of a game. I knew we would come out as winners. I thought it was funny when Favre jumped on top of Percy when he made a TD.

  3. Favre and the offense started out slow. In the second half they opened up the playbook more for him. I thought he looked good overall, he didn't do anything to lose us the game. Brett did have a TD pass to Percy, folowing the pass Favre form-tackled Harvin! It was quite funny. Soccer practice? come on man hahah

  6. No value added by Favre today. Tavares could have passed for 110 yards. heck, I think I could have !

  7. I don't know about that ... haha. I know its been said a thousands of time, but alls Favre needs to do is manage the game. Brett did just that today, he didn't do anything to hurt the team. I'm not sure Tavaris can do that!

  9. The Vikngs need to let Favre go vertical at least once a game to see if he still has it. Berrian is a concern as Harvin's short TD reception was nothing to get thrilled about. The Vikes will go as Petersen goes.

  10. Did the Vikings defensive line think this was a pre-season game? Allen was being handled, this was not a good sign, I might have to become a Raider fan

  11. Is there still any talk about a trade for Travaris? I haven't heard anything in a while. Yes JH 11 you are right about the line. If you want to win a superbowl you have to have a stout defense.

  12. i was nervous the 1st 1/4 and said 'oh no, i told everyone not to be so cocky..' but i have to saw i might have to eat crow...after feeling weird about the former Packer being our QB i am becoming a 'believer' - i think we all did well - esp. AP [whom i call Associated Press] and Percy Harvin. very impressive. i esp. like what the commentator said about AP 'whatever he had in that IV..give me some!' bleeding, dehydrated, the man still shakes people off..and i like that he seems like a cheerful guy too. anyways, way to go, Vikes! i'm cheering from you in Cali. won't be able to see next week cuz i don't have the NFL package [too cheap] longtime fan, Joan B.

If opening the playbook is Adran P. breaking 5 tackles enroute to a 65 yd TD than we are in trouble!

  15. Yeah its true about the playbook. but it was the first real game so you cant expect too much. Favre and the others will get in sync with the offense and it should be rather explosive and fun to watch. Please don't tell me that thats your real name Chis.

  16. It will also help that we really don't have a true test until Week 4! It will give the Vikes some time to get like "Die For Vikes" said in sync!

"Ain't no lie bye bye bye"

But the schedule is easy though, don't be fooled I think that San Fran Defense is for real, so Favre and Petey better be in their game.
